Virgin Atlantic drops Israel flights
Virgin Atlantic has scrapped its plans to restart Tel Aviv flights later this year.
It won’t resume flights in October as previously announced and has no plans to do so in the future.
The airline dropped Israel flights at the outbreak of the Gaza conflict.
Virgin says it has undertaken a ‘thorough review’ and decided to cancel the route indefinitely.
“After careful consideration, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel our services between London Heathrow and Tel Aviv,” a Virgin Atlantic spokesperson said.
“Customers impacted who booked directly through Virgin Atlantic will be notified by email starting May 10, 2025.”
“We apologise for the inconvenience.”
However, Virgin customers can still book UK-Israel flights via the existing codeshare partnership with El Al.
Additionally, Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines are also reportedly offloading their airport slots at Tel Aviv
Up until October 2023, Turkish Airlines operated three routes to Israel.
