Virgin Atlantic has cut Upper Class fares by up to 40% in a bid to stimulate travel by small and medium-sized businesses.

The reduced rates are on sale from today (Friday) until January 27 for travel on selected dates until September.

The deepest cut is on fares to New York, which are down by 40% to £1,099. Upper Class to Sydney is now between 16%-24% down giving rates of £2,729 or £3,029 depending on date of travel.

The fares cover destinations such as Boston, Chicago, Washington DC, Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Delhi, Mumbai, Shanghai, Tokyo, Dubai, Lagos & Nairobi as well as the Caribbean.

The fares are inclusive of pre-paid passenger taxes, fees, charges and surcharges, which are subject to change.
Chief executive Steve Ridgway said: "As a leading global airline, we have a responsibility to help pump-prime the economy.

“These lower Upper Class fares will enable small and medium-sized businesses in particular to do deals and meet contacts around the world and help get the global economy moving again."
