Virgin launches new reward club
From a Greggs sausage roll to theatre tickets, UK members of Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club can now access more ‘everyday treats’ with the airline’s new rewards club, Virgin Red.
Recognising the current restrictions placed on the travelling British public, Virgin Atlantic will allow new and existing Flying Club members to enrol in Virgin Red and link their Flying Club account to create a shared Virgin Points balance that can be used across both programmes.
In addition to Greggs sausage rolls or theatre tickets through London Theatre Direct, the airline said members can use their points on a variety of products, using points earned from Marks & Spencer or Etsy, towards seat upgrades or a case of wine from Virgin Wines.
They’ll also be able to support charitable causes through Virgin Red’s Points for Good category where members can choose to support eight national and regional charities.
Anyone enrolling in Virgin Red will receive 500 points upon their first earn completed via the app, as long as the points are earned before 31 July 2021.
Kelly Best, Chief Marketing Officer for Virgin Red, said: "As the UK continues to be under a third national lockdown, we want to give Flying Club members the opportunity to enjoy rewards on the ground whilst there are (temporarily) fewer opportunities to earn and spend Virgin Points in the sky.
"Flying Club members can earn Virgin Points with more Virgin brands and carefully selected partners with Virgin Red and of course spend them on a range of rewards from everyday treats to extraordinary experiences or donations to good causes – as well as flights and holidays of course from Virgin Atlantic."
