Virtual Earthâ„¢ maps introduced into the Dolphin reservation platform
Microsoft® mapping tools integrated with Dolphin Dynamics’ point of sale & booking engine modules
London, 4th November 2008 Travel technology supplier Dolphin Dynamics has implemented a new map-based accommodation search tool.
The new service is integrated with Microsoft® Virtual Earth™ technology to enable Dolphin users and online consumers to identify the precise location of available hotels. And to establish the proximity of available properties to famous local landmarks and other points of interest.
Dolphin integrates location maps with availability sourced from multiple suppliers
The enhanced search function provides street, aerial and hybrid map views. Along with comparative pricing of available hotels and links into property images and full descriptions.
The search process is also fully integrated into the Dolphin booking journey, enabling users to seamlessly reserve their selected hotel, and other travel products. Once booked users can print a useful local map which can be included as part of the client’s travel documentation.

Street, aerial and hybrid map views are presented within availability responses
Roberto Da Re, President, Dolphin Dynamics commented, “Introducing a map-based search provides our customers with a user-friendly way of finding the best match with a traveller’s requirements. Particularly in an unfamiliar location or when a consumer is searching for themselves online. We’re continuing to invest heavily in Dolphin in order to help our customers differentiate their service and sell travel more flexibly.”
The new search facility is now available within Dolphin’s reservation module and consumer booking engine service.
