Visit Florida rolls out multi-segment marketing campaign
Florida tourism leaders say they will explore new marketing strategies to increase visitation to the Sunshine State, targeting nature lovers, millennial travelers, shoppers and the growing number of international visitors.
The state tourism marketing corporation Visit Florida revealed the new marketing initiatives at the Florida Governor’s Conference on Tourism with the aim of surpassing 100 million visitors a year.
Last year 93.6 million tourists visited Florida and 50.3 million for the first six months of this year.
"The bigger we get, the harder it’s going to be to continue our momentum, so we’re going to have to tweak what we do," said Susannah Costello, Visit Florida’s vice president of global brand.
The agency has produced tablet apps in German, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Mandarin and English tailored for specific markets, and will be a sponsor of Sao Paulo Fashion Week in April 2015.
Targeting millennials, Visit Florida will be featured in ‘Ricky Carmichael’s Motocross Matchup’ video game and continue a partnership with Telemundo show ‘La Voz Kids.’
Additionally there will be a prominent Visit Florida section displayed on the National Geographic website featuring promotions and social media content about the state’s natural attractions.
Also, coming soon will be an online training program designed for the travel trade in collaboration with the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association.
