Visit USA seeks new UK chair
Visit USA is looking for a new chair to replace Hills Balfour managing director Jonathan Sloan.
Sloan has stepped down to avoid a conflict of interest following the appointment of Hills Balfour as UK and Ireland representative of Brand USA.
British Airways head of consumer sales Chris Rankin has become interim chair.
In a statement, Visit USA said: "Over the next few weeks the board will be reviewing the current rules governing qualification criteria to hold directorship of Visit USA (UK) with the aim of discussing these written and unwritten rules with the membership prior to the next AGM on 28 September.
"In the interim Chris Rankin from British Airways will be acting chair of Visit USA (UK) and Jonathan will remain an active member of the Board which at all times operates with members’ best interests in mind.
"Jonathan has been an excellent chair of Visit USA (UK) for over three years and his contribution and commitment to the organisation is commended by the board."
