Visitors urged to explore more than theme parks
Central Florida is well-known for its theme parks but in an effort to broaden its base tourism officials published the “Unexpected Orlando” guide book.
The 24-page, four-color publication produced by the Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau Inc details natural, cultural and heritage tourism offerings for visitors.
A list details 103 of the area’s hidden treasures such as gardens, wildlife experiences, cultural performances and special interest attractions.
“We have a very active and diverse arts and culture community that continues to expand on the options they provide for visitors to enjoy,” said William C. Peeper, president of the Orlando CVB.
