Vistara agrees codesharing pact with Lufthansa
German flag carrier Lufthansa has signed a codeshare agreement with India’s Vistara.
Lufthansa’s flies to the major Indian hubs of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai, and the ‘LH’ code will be placed on up to 18 Vistara-operated flights every day across 10 Indian cities, including Ahmedabad, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Kochi.
It expands on the current interline agreement the airlines have.
"As a growing global carrier, one of our key goals is to offer an extended international network to our customers through such strategic associations," said Vistara’s chief strategy officer, Vinod Kannan.
Full-service carrier Vistara operates over 200 flights a day with a fleet of 36 aircraft.
"By teaming up with Vistara we will strengthen and expand our position as the most popular European airline in India," George Ettiyil, senior director of sales for Lufthansa Group in South Asia said.
