VLM steps up Amsterdam flights

VLM Airlines is to double its frequency between London City Airport and Amsterdam.

The carrier, which currently runs six return flights each weekday, will offer nine from September 4 and 12 from September 18.

VLM Airlines will also increase weekend services on the route, offering a return flight each Saturday for the first time, and adding a third return service on Sundays.

VLM will operate 22 flights each weekday from London City to Holland from September 18 – 12 flights to Amsterdam and 10 flights to Rotterdam.

An additional Fokker 50 aircraft will enter service with the airline, taking its total fleet to 16. The carrier will also double the number of aircraft stationed at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol from two to four.

Managing director Johan Vanneste said: “We recently announced an increase to nine flights each weekday on this route, but analysis of forward bookings and continued spectacular growth has led us to add even more flights between London City and Amsterdam.

“The Dutch market still has large potential for a quality business airline like VLM Airlines, as we see a growing number of business people looking for a fast, reliable and efficient mode of transport when travelling from London to the Netherlands.”
