Mexico’s state of Jalisco is strengthening its air network with the launch of 10 new routes operated by Volaris, further enhancing access to key domestic markets and several important gateways in the United States.

The expansion, developed through cooperation between the Jalisco government and the ultra-low-cost carrier, is designed to stimulate tourism growth, support business travel, and generate wider economic opportunities across the state.

State tourism officials joined airline executives to mark the inauguration of the new services, which operates from both Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta. The move is part of a broader strategy to improve connectivity and reinforce Jalisco’s position as one of Mexico’s leading aviation hubs.

A ceremonial ribbon-cutting at Guadalajara International Airport celebrated the start of the Guadalajara–Salt Lake City service, one of several routes that entered operation at the beginning of June.

From Guadalajara, Volaris has added flights to Salt Lake City, Detroit, Reynosa, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas and Los Mochis. Meanwhile, Puerto Vallarta gained new nonstop connections to Aguascalientes, Puebla and San Luis Potosí.

The expanded network comes as Volaris also marks a decade of service between Seattle and Guadalajara. The route has become one of the airline’s key transborder operations and has helped deepen tourism, cultural and commercial ties between the Pacific Northwest and western Mexico.

Michelle Fridman Hirsch, Jalisco’s Secretary of Tourism, said Seattle has evolved into one of the state’s most important U.S. markets and noted that the anniversary coincides with additional capacity being introduced on the route.

Volaris currently operates two daily flights between Guadalajara and Seattle. Aeroméxico is expected to add another daily service in the coming weeks, while Delta Air Lines and Alaska Airlines provide connections between Seattle and Puerto Vallarta.

Combined, the various carriers now offer more than 30 weekly flights linking Seattle and Jalisco, creating greater opportunities for leisure travelers, meetings and events business, and commercial exchange.
