Von Essen administrators contact police

The administrators of the collapsed Von Essen hotel group are thought to have contacted police over accounting irregularities and a £30m loan spent just prior to the group going into administration.
Ernst & Young is reported to have spoken with the City of London police after investigating the company’s finances.
Von Essen’s holding company went into administration last month after the hotel group failed to keep up with interest payments on its debt.
This means that the group’s hotels, some of the finest stately homes in the country including Clivedon, are still operating.
