WA Government breaths life into Cossack
Cossack, once the Pilbara’s major port and the centre of the WA’s pearling industry is the subject of Western Australian Government plans to bring the historic ghost town back to life.
The Government is embarking on an ambitious program to revive the town, including the release of residential land.
Chris Clark, the owner of Cossack Adventure Cruises says that providing basic infrastructure like power and water is upgraded, he is confident the plan will benefit the area. He added that it has even been difficult to keep the town’s cafe running in the summer.
“We just can’t manage that, we have to close the business down so the whole community, or people who want to use that facility, are compromised because we just don’t have the power there, we don’t have the infrastructure to keep a business of that minimum size going,” he said.
