“Walk The World” at Disney for charity of your choice

Thursday, 24 Jul, 2013 0

A new program called Walk the World puts the fun in fundraising.

Participants in the program can raise funds for the charity of their choice by walking around Disney World this November.

Each day from November 14 to 18 participants in the program, which was announced today, will follow a different route around the park, averaging about 10 miles, but walkers can go as far as they choose.

The registration fee of $995 per person includes double occupancy lodging at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, group meals, group transportation, group shows, and group entrance to theme parks.

Participants who raise a minimum of $1,650 in donations for the charity of their choice can enjoy a lower registration fee of $350.

Also included are unique experiences like private fireworks viewing and private meals inside the theme parks before or after operating hours, as well as walking guides, route maps, and airport transfers from the Orlando International Airport (MCO) compliments of Disney’s Magical Express.

Single participants will be paired with a roommate of the same gender and smoking preference, or can opt for a single room at a nominal extra charge.

Walkers must be 14 years old, but non-walking family and friends are welcome to share a room.

"Here is your chance to walk along perfect sidewalks with peaceful waterways, beautifully maintained gardens, flowering trees and bushes, and award-winning architecture," said event organizer Robert Webber.

Walk The World is the newest event in a line-up of walking vacations produced by For A Cause.

Each vacation brings together people from all walks of life to raise funds and make a difference in the fight against life-threatening diseases such as AIDS, breast cancer, multiple sclerosis and heart disease and social ills like hunger and homelessness.

For A Cause is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization grounded in its mission to energize and inspire people to make a difference in the world for those who are less fortunate through highly unique, creative, and exciting walking and cycling events. Past walking locations have included France, Spain, Italy, Ireland and more.
