Walmart’s Sam’s Club launches travel packages
Sam’s Club, Walmart’s retail warehouse division is branching out into the travel business.
It has teamed up with Florida based travel wholesaler Tourico Holidays to offer vacation packages through an online portal with real time price comparisons.
Sam’s Club claims members can save up to 50% on hotel bookings and 10% on cruise vacations during the introductory sales promotion.
Members gain access to 90,000 hotels and 150 airlines to over 4,000 destinations worldwide through the Tourico booking engine.
It also provides members with TripAdvisor reviews and an online ‘Click to Chat’ customer service member support.
Membership of Sam’s Club costs $45 a year and there are more than 600 stores in the US serving over 47 million members.
Sam’s Club contributes around 12% of Walmart’s revenue annually.
