Warning to tourists after boy dies from jellyfish sting
Tourists visiting a popular Thai resort have been warned of the danger of swimming in the sea after a boy died from a jellyfish sting.
The French boy died after being stung by a box jellyfish, which trails poisonous tentacles up to three metres behind its body.
The incident happened at Had Kuad beach, also known as Bottle Beach, on Koh Phangan island.
Local police advised tourists to be careful and they’ve asked hotels to erect warning signs and prepare emergency packs in case there are any more incidents.
