West Country theme park goes into liquidation
A popular West Country theme park has closed down and gone into liquidation.
Brean Theme Park in Somerset, near Burnham-on-Sea, is housed in the Brean caravan park, which is unaffected and will continue operating, park owner Unity Holidays said.
The holiday park has been operating for around 80 years.
The holiday park with Brean Splash, Brean Play and Brean Gym will open as normal this summer.
The Brean Theme Park, which has about 40 indoor and outdoor rides and other attractions, was open each summer from March to October.
It brought in liquidator Hazlewoods last week, which says it has struggled with ‘significant financial challenges’ since the pandemic.
“The company traded throughout the peak summer season of 2025, however revenue generated over that time was insufficient to enable the company to sustain operations through the park’s usual winter closure,” said Nicholas Stafford from Hazlewoods
Hazlewoods said the company ‘will be wound up voluntarily.’
The theme park offered free entry with rides paid for individually via top-up credits.
