WestJet has aggressive expansion plans
WestJet announced aggressive plans to increase its schedule in 2004 with several new routes and frequency across Canada. The airline is adding 11 Next Generation 737-700 series aircraft, allowing them to start non-stop service from Ottawa and Vancouver, Victoria and Toronto, Winnipeg and Montreal, and others. WestJet is also increasing its number of flights from primary cities. Montreal service will increase by 24 flights a week, Ottawa will increase by 10 flights. Vancouer flights will increase by 25 departures a week. Calgary flights will increase by 15 a week. WestJet also has plans to increase its services to and from Toronto’s Pearson Airport. The airlines promised more details of its new schedule early this year. WestJet serves 24 CAnadian cities.
