Awards open for entries

Wild Asia’s Responsible Tourism Awards is now open for entries. This year, there are expanded opportunities available for businesses and organisations of all shapes and sizes, with categories available for accommodation providers, tour operators, and initiatives. Furthermore, 2014 sees a focus on people – highlighting social, economic, and cultural benefits.

Tourism operators have from now until the 23rd May to submit an entry into any of this year’s 4 categories:

  • Best in Community Engagement and Development
  • Best in Cultural Preservation
  • Most Inspiring Responsible Tourism Operator
  • Most Inspiring Responsible Tourism Initiative

The Wild Asia Responsible Tourism Awards, established in 2006, was one of the region’s first awards to identify leaders in socially and environmentally responsible tourism.

The awards criteria are based on international standards by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council and are well-known for their opportunities for grass-root operators to gain international recognition, supported by a panel of locally based global experts in the field.SEE  http://bit.ly/1hVS5uA

Finalists and Winners will be showcased and celebrated at ITB Asia this October, held at Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore. Wild Asia is ITB Asia’s annual CSR partner for tourism, and the Responsible Tourism Awards form part of the calendar of events in responsible tourism at the region’s biggest business-to-business travel trade show.

Businesses can apply now, for free of charge, by completing the application form of their choice at http://bit.ly/1oZf0K6  and sending it to [email protected] by 23rd May 2014.

2015 will welcome a theme of environmental benefits – showcasing entries with commitments to wildlife, natural areas, resource efficiency, and best practice. 2016 will be the 10th anniversary of the Asia wide awards for sustainability, and will host a theme of ‘Most Improved’,
