Wild New Scottish Ecotourism Company
Wild at Heart is a new eco-holiday company in north Scotland, launching in autumn 2008. Aim – to provide holidays, short breaks, single day tours and workshops which offer memorable and inspiring experiences, whilst having fun, developing a deeper connection to the natural world and learning to live more lightly on the planet.
As an environmentally friendly and ethical company they “aim to contribute to the well being of the planet and our local community through all our activitiesâ€.
The company was founded by Deborah Benham a marine biologist, animal behaviour expert, ecotourismspecialist and accredited tour guide.
Deborah works for the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society in their responsible whale watch team. She also manages the Dolphin Space Programme a wildlife tourism partnership which encourages tour boat operators to offer high quality, responsible wildlife watching trips which do not cause disturbance to marine wildlife. She is also responsible for running the WDCS marine guide training programme and has worked as a wildlife guide on boats in California and Scotland.
The company is looking for participants to join its inaugral tour in the Scottish Highlands, 13 – 20 September 2008. During the tour participants will explore lochs, glens and ancient forest; search for wildlife; forage for wild foods; tour an eco-village and visit the stunning Cairngorm mountains.
