Wimbledon champ donates the shirt off his back
Wimbledon champion Andy Murray has donated the kit he wore in the gripping men’s final to Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum.
Murray became the first Briton in 77 years to win the men’s singles title at Wimbledon, with a straight-sets victory over the world number one, Novak Djokovic.
Murray’s win came nearly eight decades after Fred Perry won his last of three titles at the Wimbledon championships.
Murray’s outfit will be displayed in the 2013 Championships showcase.
Items include his Adidas Climalite shirt, Aircast ankle braces, Adidas Climalite tailored shorts and Adidas adipower tennis shoes.
Joining this impressive showcase are the dresses worn in the Wimbledon Women’s Final by champion Marion Bartoli and finalist Sabine Lisicki.
