Windstar appoints new head of guest services
Small ship line Windstar has named industry veteran George Howell senior director of guest services.
Howell takes charge of Windstar’s vacation planning unit which handles all sales and customer service functions.
He also holds overall responsibility for service training, air contracting, reservation system management and the guest loyalty program.
He will also lead expansion of add-on services such as vacation packages and shore excursion programs.
Most recently Howell led his own travel industry consultancy firm.
He previously worked at Holland America Line and Seabourn Cruises and was vice president of revenue development for Cruise West.
He is also a former president of SKAL International Seattle chapter.
