Chicago remains the No. 1 site for business visits, bearing out Los Angeles, Washington, DC, New York and Atlanta, according to a new business study.

However, competitive threats from areas such as Las Vegas and Orlando is so intense that Chicago business leaders are considering a downtown casino, said The Chicago Tribune.

The travel industry report also tallied visits to Chicago for general business purposes, with the city leading any others.

Chicago’s standing as a business capital, a geographic center and a hub for arts and culture contributes to its overall business travel, observers said.

The report was done by the Institute of Business Travel Management, the Travel Industry Association of America and the National Business Travel Association.
