Wine ‘n’ dine in NY wineries this fall
The Spencer Hotel & Spa will be featuring gourmet dining and wine tasting weekends this fall featuring local wineries throughout the Chautauqua, New York region.
Guests may choose from one of 25 literary themed rooms, indulge in a lavish four course dinner paired with four complimentary glasses of local wines, and awaken to a signature Spencer breakfast each morning.
On the second day, guests take a self-guided tour of over 15 wineries with breath taking views of Chautauqua’s fall foliage and redeem a $20.00 gift certificate at their favorite winery. Two wine glasses and a complimentary cheese and cracker platter will be available in the evening after the tour.
The Gourmet Wine Package is available beginning September, 2007 – June 2008, subject to availability. Specialty Lake Erie Wine Trail festivals are being offered November 3rd and 4th and November 19th and 20th.
The Spencer, a small, literary-themed boutique hotel located on the grounds of the Chautauqua Institution, is celebrating 100 years of history in 2007. The Spencer operates as a small, independent hotel property with a distinctive literary theme which celebrates the life and works of history’s most revered authors. Each room depicts scenes from their most famous works. For instance, in the C.S. Lewis (Room 302), a mural dedicated to “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe” portrays the image of stepping into Narnia, complete with the famed wardrobe. In the Isak Dinesen (Room 203), a play on the “Out of Africa” theme allows guests to slumber under their very own dream-like safari tent while the Jules Verne (Room 306) gives the playful feel of sleeping up in a balloon traveling “Around the World in 80 Days.”
