With ceasefire, Wizz Air restarts London – Tel Aviv flights
Wizz Air yesterday restarted flights between London and Tel Aviv following the announcement of a Israel ceasefire deal with Hamas.
Also, the airline has resumed flights from London Luton to Amman, Jordan
Germany’s Lufthansa Group announced it will resume Israel flights, starting February 1.
This is for all group airlines including Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, Austrian Airlines, and Swiss.
They will resume daily flights from Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, and Vienna plus three weekly flights from Brussels and twice weekly from Dusseldorf.
Air travel across the region has been heavily impacted since October 2023 with airlines making stop-start attempts at resuming services only to suspend them again.
Several airlines have suspended flights until at least March.
This includes EasyJet which has said it will reassess the situation following the ceasefire breakthrough.
“We welcome the news and will be reviewing our plans in the coming days,” the airline said.
