Wizz Air launches flights between London and Budapest
Wizz Air, the largest low fare airline based in Central and Eastern Europe has teamed up with the Hungarian National Tourist Office to promote flights to Budapest from London Luton Airport.
The outdoor campaign, which was launched in June, uses 12 branded taxis to promote “Hungary – a love for life” with two visual displays, one on either side of each taxi. One side depicts classical musicians against a background of “Hungary for Culture” and, in stark contrast, the other side features young people partying; “Hungary for fun”. The taxi campaign will run for a 12 month period.
To capitalise on the destination artwork on the outside of the taxi Wizz Air has branded the tip-up seats inside and feature actual flight offers based on flights from London Luton to Budapest from £28.
The campaign, which kicked off in June, has already received very positive feedback with taxi drivers and their passengers commenting on the interesting artwork.
The number of nights spent in Hungary by UK visitors from January to March this year has risen by over 30% compared to the previous year, almost certainly driven in part by the fantastic Wizz Air flight offers available.
Wizz Air operates a young fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft from 8 bases on over 100 routes and carried a total of 4.2 million passengers in 2007. The airline offers flights to 12 destinations in 5 countries from London Luton and is the airport’s third largest airline.
