Wizz Air to launch base at Cardiff Airport
Wizz Air is to operate nine routes from a newly-established base at Cardiff Airport.
The Welsh capital will become the airline’s fourth UK location, alongside Luton, Gatwick and Doncaster Sheffield.
It will operate services from Cardiff to Alicante, Faro, Larnaca, Tenerife, Heraklion, Corfu and Palma from late March, with flights to Lanzarote beginning in October and Sharm El Sheikh in November.
Wizz Air Managing Director Owain Jones said: "This is an extremely exciting time for Wizz Air as we increase our footprint in the UK even further.
"The creation of our fourth UK base at Cardiff Airport reflects Wizz Air’s continued commitment to serving the UK market and generating economic growth, as we create local jobs, stimulate the tourism and hospitality industries and deliver on our promise of providing affordable, direct flights to exciting holiday destinations."
