World-travelguides.com launches new green downloadable electronic directories with two unique features

There are so many facets to going green, green accommodation, green transport, sustainable projects, community projects, but what does this all mean to the tourist? The travel industry is working feverishly to conform to “green standards”. Reducing the carbon footprint is a global team effort where tourists and tourism establishments work together. One way in which we can assist, is to provide information through the new downloadable green directories.

The green directories offer a number of solutions:
1. The downloadable format is in itself an eco-friendly alternative to printed directories and travel guides. You cut down on paper, paper manufacturing chemicals, printing chemicals, paper transport and you help save some trees. Tourism offices, sustainable tourism organizations and green accreditation organizations are welcome to add articles about their general green initiatives and tips for tourists at no cost. The green directories are very similar to their printed counterparts, but with many more features.
2. The green directories offer tourism establishments the opportunity to list their green credentials with the new green pop-up feature. A reader viewing a listing simply clicks on the green icon and the green credentials are displayed. This feature does not indicate accreditation and all tourism establishments are welcome to list their initiatives, no matter how small or large their participation. In the current economic climate, not all tourism establishments can afford large scale green initiative implementations, but they can start with many small things that cost little, or nothing. Some even save you money!

The second unique feature created for the green directories is the “Travel Assistant” The “Travel Assistant” is a lead generating form which is part of the listing. The reader can make one or more detailed enquiries directly from the listing.

In a business environment where your competition is growing and your budget is inevitably shrinking, lead generation gives you a cost-effective way to keep a steady stream of new customers coming your way. The green directories offer a lead generation program which builds highly targeted tourism leads. The program has a lead back-up system which helps to improve the efficacy of your lead generation campaign. Conversion rates on leads that you receive often have a higher conversion success rate than cold contacts because the prospect is pre qualified, before you receive the lead.
