WOW Air bringing forward Canada launch

Saturday, 22 Mar, 2016 0
Fast growing Icelandic budget carrier WOW Air is bringing forward its launch in Canada and also adding capacity on both its routes.

The airline is due to begin flying to Reykjavik from Montreal from May 12, 2016, and Toronto’s Pearson airport on May 20, 2016.

The airline will now start flying on May 4 and May 11 respectively to both airports.

The original schedule of four flights a week from both Canadian airports has been increased to six a week from Toronto and five from Montreal.

"Due to great demand since we first announced our Canadian routes in October 2015, we are increasing capacity for both the Montreal and Toronto routes," CEO Skuli Mogensen said in news release.

"We are thrilled with the response to our super low fares, and we will continue adding even more interesting destinations across Europe that will connect with Canada at great prices."

All flights will be operated by Airbus A320 or A321 long-range aircraft.

WOW’s rock-bottom transatlantic prices start from just $99 one-way and has also proved a big hit in US markets such as Baltimore and Boston.

However the airline adopts a low cost pricing model with extras fees for almost everything including extra legroom and checked baggage.
