Saturday, 30 Aug, 2018 0

Icelandic ultra-low cost carrier Wow Air announced its inaugural flight to India will depart December 5, and is marking the occasion with US$199 fares from the US.

The no-frills fares are valid departing from Boston, Washington DC/Baltimore, New York, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, St. Louis and San Francisco to New Delhi via its Reykjavik, Iceland hub.

Wow will use new Airbus A330 jets on the New Delhi route.

"We are very excited to start flying to New Delhi in December. It’s clear that there is a great need for affordable travel between North America and Delhi," Skuli Mogensen, founder and CEO of Wow Air said in a news release.

The bargain fares are valid from January to March but include only a bare bones service that doesn’t include checked bags or a carry-on other than a small personal item.

Founded just seven years ago, Wow now serves 39 destinations in Europe and North America
