Wow Air scraps more US routes
Cash-strapped low cost carrier Wow Air is again downsizing its US flight network.
The Icelandic airline will halt services to Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York’s JFK and Dallas Fort Worth in 2019.
It follows the scrapping of flights to Cincinnati and Cleveland, and St Louis which ends in January.
The carrier also laid off more than 100 employees earlier this month and will nearly halve its fleet size.
"There will be no changes in the schedule in December and early January. In January 2019, Wow Air will implement a new flight schedule. WOW Air will contact passengers affected by these changes," an airline statement said.
It plans to continue operating its remaining routes including Baltimore, Boston, Newark, Orlando, and Chicago O’Hare.
A planned sale of the airline to Icelandair fell through last month.
Wow has since opened talks over a stake sale with low cost airline investor Indigo Partners.
