World Travel Market Portfolio press and PR manager Paul Nelson is to leave the company.

Nelson, who has managed press and public relations for the Reed Exhibitions-owned WTM division for over 10 years, will leave at the end of this month.

He joined in February 2009, from lastminute.com Group, where he looked after PR for the group’s brands including lastminute.com, Travelocity, Medhotels.com and Holiday Autos. Before that, he worked as a business and travel journalist.

Nelson started on WTM London with the role expanding out across the whole WTM Portfolio incorporating WTM Latin America, WTM Africa and Arabian Travel Market, before founding and launching the International Travel and Tourism Awards.

Nelson said: "It’s been a privilege to head up WTM Portfolio’s press and PR and the role has changed significantly over the past 10 years since I joined.

"Initially, I joined to look after the PR for solely for WTM London. The role has expanded to include the whole of the WTM Portfolio. Every year, WTM London gets bigger and better. Last year, I launched the International Travel and Tourism Awards.

"After 10 years, the time feels right to move on to other opportunities and I’m excited to see what the future holds."
