WTTC report hails transformative power of AI
New reports from the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) and Microsoft are highlighting the transformative potential of AI (Artificial Intelligence) for travel and tourism.
The first in a series of AI reports, announced during the global tourism body’s event at FITUR, is poised to redefine standards and call for greater integration of such technologies.
WTTC is supporting the embrace of AI technologies.
Throughout the traveller’s journey, WTTC believes AI can play a pivotal role in delivering a tailored experience now and in the future.
Artificial intelligence can empower personalised recommendations and marketing strategies and offer instant responses via sophisticated AI powered chatbots.
The report also highlights AI’s capabilities extend to predicting future demand patterns.
It can also be key in promoting sustainability with efficient resource management.
Julia Simpson, WTTC CEO, said: “As we navigate the ever-evolving tourism landscape, AI emerges as a catalyst for positive change. “
The report reveals the tourism sector lags other consumer-facing industries in AI adoption.
With concerns about AI’s impact on jobs, the report also addresses the potential for job creation, recognising that although AI will be disruptive, it will in turn generate new opportunities.
