Wyndham makes UK debut
The Conrad London five-star, all-suite hotel is to be renamed The Wyndham London–Chelsea Harbour.
A Wyndham Hotel Group International subsidiary, Chelsea Harbour Management, will operate the 160-room hotel under a 20-year agreement with the owner, Blue Harbour 2.
The deal marks US group Wyndham’s entry into the UK hotel sector.
Wyndham president and CEO Steven Rudnitsky said the introduction of the brand in London is part of the company’s strategy to pursue flagship Wyndham hotels in key international and gateway cities.
He said: “London is Europe’s economic hub and one of the largest feeder markets in the world.
“The addition of The Wyndham London–Chelsea Harbour to our collection of first-class Wyndham properties further establishes Wyndham Hotel Group’s position as a global hospitality company and demonstrates the strength of the Wyndham brand.
“Our intent is to fully leverage this hotel’s premier status by augmenting its restaurant, bar and spa amenities,” Rudnitsky added.
Pat Power, director of Blue Harbour 2, said: “After an extensive search, we selected the Wyndham brand for our marquee London hotel and the company behind the brand – Wyndham Hotel Group International – to manage it. We are proud to introduce this widely recognised brand name to the United Kingdom.”
Wyndham Hotel Group is one of three principal components of Wyndham Worldwide which encompasses nearly 6,500 hotels and more than 539,000 hotel rooms on six continents. All hotels are individually owned and operated independently or by a Wyndham Hotel Group management subsidiary.
