Wyndham to debut La Quinta brand in New Zealand
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is introducing the La Quinta brand to the South East Asia and Pacific Rim region.
It signed agreements for two properties in New Zealand.
The upper-midscale brand will be known as LQ by Wyndham in the SEAPR region.
It signed a franchise agreement with Safari Group to bring the brand to Auckland and Queenstown, with the latter first to open later this year.
"We are delighted to deepen our relationship the Safari Group and to introduce another sought-after and growing brand to New Zealand, and the SEAPR region. Despite the current situation, we are confident of the tourism momentum in New Zealand," said Joon Aun Ooi, president and MD, SEAPR, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
The 87-key LQ by Wyndham Remarkables Park, near Queenstown will feature a range of accommodation for short and extended stays, a fitness centre and ‘grab & go’ café.
The 246-room LQ by Wyndham Greenlane Auckland will have similar amenities and is located conveniently between the airport and CBD.
It is set to welcome guests in mid-2022.
The company currently operates 13 hotels in New Zealand in the Wyndham Garden, Ramada by Wyndham, and Days Inn by Wyndham brands.
It already has a presence in Auckland and Queenstown as well as Wellington, Christchurch, Albany, Rotorua, Taipa, Hamilton, and Wanaka.
