Yes, there’s more than one park at Disney California
Literally across from Disneyland is Disney’s California Adventure park, [Pictured right] which through Disney storytelling and imagination pays homage to the fun and fantasy of California, capturing the state’s spirit, wonder and beauty on 60-acres in four-themed lands – Golden State, Paradise Pier, Hollywood Pictures Backlot and “a bug’s land.”
With its iconic Grizzly Peak towering 110 feet over the park, guests can enjoy a variety of spectacular entertainment, adventures and attractions at Disney’s California Adventure and the signature attraction of the park Soarin’ Over California – a must see breathtaking virtual hang-gliding tour over some of the state’s most amazing landmarks and scenic wonders while Golden Dreams takes guests through the thrilling heritage of the Golden State.
Guests to Disney’s California Adventure will experience California-style fun on such attractions as the thrilling twists and turns of California Screamin’ roller
Fun is even found in the smallest of places such as a bug’s land, inspired by the Disney/Pixar film “A Bug’sLife” and featuring the 3-D antics of It’s Tough to be a Bug and inside the 2000-seat Hyperion Theater guests can enjoy Broadway-style showmanship with Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular while the newest additions to park, Turtle Talk with Crush and Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! provide fun for the whole family.
Bridging the two theme parks and three hotels is Downtown Disney, [Pictured right] a 20-acre, admission-free entertainment, dining and retail district, with the 300,000-plus square-foot Downtown Disney District including ESPN Zone, House of Blues, Rainforest Café, Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen, Build-A-Bear Workshop, AMC 12 Theaters and more than 20 retail shops including Sephora, Club Libby Lu, Department 56, LEGO Imagination Center, Quicksilver Boardriders Club and Anne Geddes’ flagship store.
Guests can also board a Disneyland Monorail for a trip from the high-energy of Downtown Disney to the futuristic landscape of Tomorrowland in Disneyland.
