The integration gives Expedia TAAP users a completely automated virtual card payment workflow when settling bookings with TL Pay. Travel Ledger now captures booking and payment data directly from the TAAP platform—tracking real-time and delayed charges—and delivers fully reconciled booking and card information without any manual input. With this setup, every Expedia TAAP reservation paid using a TL Pay virtual card is instantly logged, matched, and reconciled inside the Travel Ledger system. Finance teams gain a unified dashboard showing booking details, payment status, and settlement records, eliminating the time-consuming task of manually reconciling transactions. The platform’s forecasting and balance-tracking tools provide real-time visibility into available funds and upcoming charge dates. This ensures accounts remain adequately funded ahead of Expedia’s billing cycles, reducing the risk of declined transactions and preventing disruptions during the booking process. “We’re excited to announce our integration with Expedia TAAP, one of the world’s leading B2B travel distribution platforms,” said Roberto Da Re, CEO of Travel Ledger. “This development delivers a seamless experience for agents—enhancing automation, security, and profitability. By eliminating manual reconciliation and improving financial visibility, we’re helping travel companies focus more on service delivery and less on admin.”A better management of finances
The system effectively creates a “dynamic statement” for Expedia TAAP activity. Finance teams can monitor spending and upcoming payments much like they would with a traditional supplier account, but settlement occurs automatically through TL Pay rather than manual bank transfers. This is especially beneficial for leisure-focused agencies that book months in advance. With real-time oversight of card issuances, anticipated charge dates, and account balances, companies can fund their TL Pay accounts just in time—avoiding unnecessary cash flow constraints or misallocated funds. Security features are built-in as well. Travel Ledger allows agencies to restrict card use to approved suppliers, set limits, and apply granular controls at both user and supplier levels. These safeguards reduce fraud risk while enabling customers to continue earning cash-back and incentives tied to both card and settlement activities. Expedia TAAP is the first supplier to be integrated at this depth within the Travel Ledger ecosystem, following extensive technical collaboration and user testing to optimize the workflow for agencies that rely on advanced reconciliation tools. “We’re confident this integration will empower travel agents using Expedia TAAP to benefit from a more seamless reconciliation and post-booking experience,” said Robin Lawther, VP of Expedia TAAP. “Our connection with Travel Ledger reflects how Expedia TAAP continues to evolve as a best-in-class platform for agent reservations.” The integration is now live for all Expedia TAAP agencies across Europe. Travel agents can request a Travel Ledger account and obtain their Integration Key through their Expedia TAAP representative or by contacting Travel Ledger directly. -

Alfonso: “This is the first time Expedia has published its results publicly. This year we released our B2B segment results in Q1 2023, with revenue growth of 55% over the previous year. Over the last 2-3 years, we have been diversifying, we have had time to climb the mountain, both B2B and B2C are doing well, and we will continue to grow. Our growth in B2B is largely because our technology has been adopted by companies of all sizes, and will continue to play a crucial role.” Charuta: Let's talk about financial partnerships. How important are they to you? Alfonso: “We have recently announced several deals, especially in the US, such as with Mastercard. The travel sector is very attractive, and no one wants to give up their piece of the pie. It is worth noting that fraud has increased considerably – about 75%. With the Expedia widget, companies can prevent and manage fraud.” Charuta: What synergies exist between loyalty apps? Alfonso: [With regard to the recently announced new loyalty programmes, One Key, TAAP (Travel Agency Affiliate Programmes)]. “The advantages and benefits of loyalty programmes are felt from day one; you don't have to wait until the 10th day. The goal is to reach the 83% of travellers who never get status or significant rewards because they only make a few trips a year. These can be used on flights, hotels, cruises, activities, holiday rentals, and car rentals. Travellers will be able to use and earn rewards on Expedia, Hotels.com, and Vrbo, an integration that did not exist before. “One Key, probably the most comprehensive loyalty programme in existence, and one of the most powerful options available, will launch in July in the US and next year in other markets. [Alfonso also comments on Travel OS, which was the first microservice offered through Travel OS. Travel OS has reached commercial status, and its revenue management API and service technology is now in beta testing with partners.] “We will listen to our partners to see what their priorities are, and we will continue to adapt to them." Charuta: How important are partners to Expedia, and how many partners do you have right now? [Alfonso comments on the partnership with Marriot and says that they have about 36 partners]. “Our partners see less friction in terms of rates; there will be new developments in the near future. We will also work with independent hotels.” Charuta: We can't finish this interview without talking about AI. The moderator asks if jobs will be lost. Alfonso: “Expedia was the first company to introduce GPT Chat. We have been onboard since the beginning. “For us it's a great enabler, but it's not something new for us, although everyone is talking about it now. “What we will achieve with AI is to improve the customer journey, the traveller experience, at all stages, including customer service.” -

Expedia TAAP Announces New Promotion To Boost Travel Agent Recovery During Key Summer PeriodExpedia Travel Agent Affiliate Program (TAAP) standard tier agents set to be upgraded to ...Read moreExpedia TAAP Announces New Promotion To Boost Travel Agent Recovery During Key Summer Period - News & announcementsExpedia® Partner Solutions (EPS), unlocking the power of Expedia Group™ for partners globally, today announced a new summer promotion to further aid travel agents in their recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The promotion is available in Italy, Spain, Mexico, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, France, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, and Norway. There are slight variations to the promotion available in the United Kingdom, Germany, and the Netherlands. As global travel and tourism slowly starts to gather momentum again, the new promotion will see all standard tier Expedia TAAP agents promoted to silver tier for three months, empowering them to earn more with each booking they make. Standard tier members who hit their booking target will be able to extend their silver tier status for the rest of the year. Additionally, all tier levels (standard, silver, gold and platinum) will receive +2% commission on premium plus properties for the same three-month period. These promotions – starting 1st June – will be available to both new and existing Expedia TAAP partners, helping them to capitalize on the expected increase in travel over the peak summer months. This means travel agents that join Expedia TAAP during this time will be able to earn up to 3% more in commission for each booking. “The COVID-19 pandemic has served as the backdrop to one of the most challenging periods in the history of the travel industry,” says Robin Lawther, Senior Director at Expedia TAAP. “As the world slowly starts to open, the traditionally busy summer months will be crucial to recovery. We hope initiatives like the one being announced today will serve as a much-needed catalyst, helping both new and existing Expedia TAAP partners bounce back as quickly as possible.” Today’s announcement is the latest in a series of EPS initiatives designed to provide ongoing support and assistance to travel agents during this difficult time. Over the past year, the company has made nearly 70% of rates refundable by reclassifying the vast majority of non-refundable rates, helping agents provide more flexibility and reassurance to travelers. In February 2021, Expedia TAAP introduced a new tier retention program, allowing over 10,000 Expedia TAAP partners to keep their 2020 tier for a further 12 months. It has also opened package rates (discounted rates on accommodation bookings when combined with transport) to all partner tiers, creating new revenue opportunities for thousands of agents. All of this is in addition to a wide range of new tools and services for Expedia TAAP partners. These include a recently released virtual agent; self-service functionality that allows agents to manage bookings more efficiently, and the new TAAP Academy learning portal, designed to help partners unlock the full potential of Expedia TAAP.-
