The addition of SLH to Hilton’s luxury portfolio – which is anchored by its iconic brands Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, LXR Hotels & Resorts, Signia by Hilton and NoMad – has increased Hilton’s global footprint over the past year to include more unique locations. With stays now available in appealing destinations like Andorra, Cambodia, Saint Vincent & the Grenadines, São Tomé and Principe and Slovenia, Hilton travelers can book stays in 12 new countries and in hundreds more unique luxury destinations than at the same time last year.

The Year of the Great Recharge: Hilton Trends Report Reveals ‘Rest and Relaxation’ to be Top Driver of Travel Decisions Across Generations in 2024 - News & announcements
Report Predicts Travelers of All Ages will Value Connectivity and Personalization, Seek Out Culture and Unique Experiences, and Embrace New Business Travel Trends as Travel Boom Continues
According to a recent global survey conducted by Hilton and Ipsos, travelers say they will reduce other areas of personal spending to prioritize leisure travel in 2024, with a majority across generations indicating their No. 1 reason to travel in 2024 will be to rest and recharge, with more emphasis on sleep than ever before. Those insights and more were unveiled today with the launch of Hilton’s third-annual trends report: “What Millennials, Gen Z, Gen X and Baby Boomers Tell Us About Travel in the Year Ahead.” In addition to defining the preferences and passions of the 2024 traveler, the report takes a deeper look at how each generation views travel – from the digital-native Gen Zer to the experienced Baby Boomer.
"Across generations, we’re seeing guests customize their stays with us, invest in quality sleep, pursue new cultural experiences, and stretch the boundaries of business travel. At Hilton, our world-class team members are leaning into these trends and creating unforgettable experiences for every guest who stays with us."

“In this new golden age of travel, travelers’ needs are changing, and we are always innovating to better serve our guests and be their first choice when they hit the road,” said Chris Nassetta, president and chief executive officer, Hilton. “Across generations, we’re seeing guests customize their stays with us, invest in quality sleep, pursue new cultural experiences, and stretch the boundaries of business travel. At Hilton, our world-class team members are leaning into these trends and creating unforgettable experiences for every guest who stays with us.”
Following a global survey of more than 10,000 travelers from nine countries, video diaries with 60 U.S. travelers and in-depth interviews with dozens of Hilton travel experts, the report uncovers four themes expected to be the catalysts of change and innovation for travel in 2024 and beyond.
Personal wellness matters to travelers, and even more specifically, there will be an increased focus on savoring a good night’s sleep while away from home – a trend that has accelerated after the challenges of the last few years heightened travelers’ desire for rest and relaxation. In 2024, travelers will look to engage with products and brands aligned with this better-for-you imperative.
Gen Z is the most intentional about winding down, making small choices throughout the day that can make a big impact on their sleep.
In 2024, travelers will seek out consistent and seamless experiences that are hyper-personalized to their needs, from booking to on-property experiences. Eighty percent of global travelers surveyed said it’s important to be able to book their trip entirely online, with 86% of Millennials and 83% of Gen Zers leading the charge – and 76% of global travelers said they appreciate travel apps that reduce the friction and stress of travel.
According to the Trends Global Survey, 80% of travelers feel it’s important to be able to book their trip entirely online
Dining, culture and connections are inspiring leisure travel decisions as people increasingly prioritize the purchase of experiences over things.
In fact, as the world holds onto their renewed sense of wanderlust following the pandemic, 64% of global travelers say they aim to reduce other areas of their personal spending to prioritize leisure travel in 2024.
As they budget for 2024, travelers’ top focus is on culinary experiences. Second to culinary experiences, 47% of travelers will prioritize exploration and adventure, with Gen Zers and Millennials (52% for both) carving out more budget for these types of experiences than the other generations.
Ways of work have transformed significantly following the pandemic – including shifts in when, where and how people conduct business. As a result, business trends have emerged and strengthened, including blended leisure and business travel, increased length of stays and the rising popularity of secondary markets for meetings and events. In fact, more than a third of Gen Z and Millennial business travelers say they plan to extend a business trip to enjoy leisure time before or after their work obligations.
And 24% of global business travelers plan to take a friend or family member with them on a business trip next year.
“Every generation is driving a vibrant mix of travel experiences and expectations for 2024,” said Jason Dorsey, president of The Center for Generational Kinetics and Hilton’s generational consultant for this year’s report. “One important finding within is the cross-generational priority for connectivity and personalization throughout the travel experience. This bodes well for fueling innovation in the travel industry and for travel leaders, like Hilton, that are creating new and unique experiences that attract all four generations of adult travelers.”

Plan dramatically accelerates ability to meet growing demand for overnight Electric Vehicle charging during hotel stays
Through an expanded agreement with Tesla, Hilton today announced that, beginning in early 2024, up to 20,000 Tesla Universal Wall Connectors are slated to be installed at 2,000 hotels in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, making Hilton’s planned EV charging network the largest of any hospitality company.
With at least six chargers at each of the selected hotels, Hilton will become the first choice for the dramatically increasing number of travelers who drive electric vehicles. This announcement follows the recent launch of Tesla’s Universal Wall Connector, a product designed to seamlessly charge any North American vehicle model, expanding Tesla’s efforts to make great charging available to all EVs.
"At Hilton, we are committed to meeting the changing needs of our guests who are looking for hotel experiences that complement their daily routines while offering exceptional hospitality."
Matt Schuyler
Chief Brand Officer, Hilton
“At Hilton, we are committed to meeting the changing needs of our guests who are looking for hotel experiences that complement their daily routines while offering exceptional hospitality,” said Matt Schuyler, chief brand officer, Hilton. “Through this expanded agreement with Tesla, we are significantly changing the landscape of universal EV chargers in North America in an incredibly short amount of time. Across Hilton’s family of award-winning brands, this network of EV chargers will offer our guests even more value with the convenience of much-needed overnight charging access in more locations.”
Hilton’s vast geographic footprint of hotels alongside roadways and in key urban destinations across North America makes it uniquely suited to provide charging access at scale for travelers on long-haul trips.
“A key priority for Tesla Charging is installing low-cost, convenient AC charging anywhere electric vehicles are parked for more than an hour or two,” said Rebecca Tinucci, senior director of charging infrastructure, Tesla. “To ensure electric vehicle adoption at scale, our joint industry goal must be to vastly improve upon the traditional gasoline vehicle ownership experience, not just meet it. Installing infrastructure at popular destinations, like Hilton hotels, enables EV owners to charge where they park, meaning no unnecessary refueling stops along their journey. We applaud Hilton for their leadership in the space and look forward to continuing to ramp this critical program with other industry leaders.”
Travelers are increasingly looking for EV chargers when they travel as evidenced by the continued growth of searches at Hilton.com for hotels with charging capability. In 2023, the website’s EV charging search attribute had the fastest volume of growth to-date, jumping from fourth to second highest in converting searches to stays.
Hilton also is committed to creating a positive impact for both people and the planet through its Travel with Purpose platform. This initiative is one of many that provides travelers who prioritize sustainability with more convenient options to help reduce the environmental impact of travel.

Fairway to heaven: Hilton Head Island nature and world-class golf - News & announcements
By Graham McKenzieIf I am asked, what do I want from a holiday then almost machine gun like I blurt out ‘wildlife, activity and local food’.
If that activity involves golf, then so much the better but hey I’m not that fussy.
I think I have found the almost perfect destination. Nestled on the picturesque coast of South Carolina, Hilton Head Island is a haven for avid golfers and nature enthusiasts alike. With pristine beaches, stunning landscapes, and a collection of top-notch golf courses, this charming island offers an unforgettable experience.
Hilton Head Island (or HHI according to the golf balls) boasts a tranquil ambiance that makes it the perfect getaway for relaxation. With over 12 miles of pristine beaches, visitors can indulge in sun-kissed shores, the refreshing coastal breeze, and enjoy water activities.
The island's lush maritime forests, nature preserves, and bike-friendly trails provide ample opportunities for exploration. Hilton Head Island's rich ecosystem, home to diverse wildlife and bird species, makes it a paradise for nature enthusiasts. What’s not to like ?
The area has also gained a well-deserved reputation as one of the premier golf destinations in the United States. It boasts a remarkable array of world-class golf courses. From challenging championship courses to scenic links-style layouts, Hilton Head offers options for all skill levels.
Courses like Harbour Town Golf Links, designed by Pete Dye, to the Robert Trent Jones Oceanfront Course at Palmetto Dunes are true golf gems. Relative newcomers like Atlantic Dunes designed by Davis Love III do not let the HHI side down in the slightest with narrow approaches, swift putting surfaces and a judicious use of water. Enthusiasts may also appreciate the island's golf academies, practice facilities, and professional instruction available.
Modern golf courses can also be a birder’s dream. The design and maintenance of the course has to fall within the general guidelines of biodiversity by ‘helping people enhance the valuable natural areas and wildlife habitats. Whenever I play golf in the US I take with me my ‘big’ camera so that I do not miss out on any photo opportunities with the local flora and fauna.
While golf may be the main attraction, Hilton Head Island offers a plethora of other activities. There is fine dining at award-winning restaurants, charming boutiques and art galleries, or a fishing excursion to catch your dinner. I adore oysters and on HHI you can have them for almost every meal and not break the bank. I drew the line at dipping them in eggs over easy, but I certainly had my fill.
If seafood is your thing, then this is the place to come. For those that like some red meat you won’t be disappointed. On my last night I indulged my cholesterol readings by having a medium rare filet (bone in) at the Harbour Town Links Club House. My colleague had the ‘Butchers Cut’ which is local lingo for half a cow. You could not fault it.
Hilton Head Island is a destination that seamlessly blends natural beauty and recreational opportunities. The island ticks all the boxes. Pack your clubs, get your big camera out, don some sunscreen, and prepare for an unforgettable island getaway.
Graham stayed at the Inn and Club at Harbour Town part of the Sea Pines Resort portfolio and was jointly hosted by Hilton Head Island and Savannah/HHI International Airport
