The first flight to the largest of the Channel Islands took off on time and provides customers across Essex and the South East with even more choice at great value fares. The route continues to operate on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the summer.

The announcement comes as easyJet celebrates the first anniversary of its base at London Southend Airport, which opened in March 2025. Since then, the airline has flown more than 800,000 passengers to and from the airport, demonstrating strong and sustained demand from customers and supporting jobs and connectivity across the region.

“Its great to have the double celebration today of a new route to Jersey as well as the base opening anniversary. Handling 800,000 passengers in the first year of base operations with easyJet enabled London Southend to become the UK’s fastest growing airport in 2025 – and we expect strong growth again this year.

“Jersey was our most requested route from our customers, so its fantastic to see the first flight take-off today. Three summers ago we had just four routes from London Southend – this summer our network boasts 21 routes giving passengers a great choice of beach breaks, city escapes, lakes and mountains.”

With a catchment area the same size as Switzerland and around eight million people living within an hour of the airport, the opening of a base last year at London Southend provides easyJet with further growth opportunities in the UK leisure travel and package holiday market.
