Fred. Holidays Rail Journeys Launches Brand New & Excusive Amamagna, Venice Simplon-Orient-Express & Danube Christmas Markets Rail & Sail Package
Fred. Holidays Rail Journeys has released details of a brand new and exclusive Rail & Sail experience like no other combining a Danube Christmas Markets cruise on the beautiful AmaMagna with a rail journey on the iconic Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.
Departing 8th December 2024, this unique, nine-night holiday starts with a seven-night Danube Christmas Markets cruise on the luxury AmaMagna, during which guests will experience timeless holiday traditions in four countries – Hungary, Slovakia, Austria and Germany – all decked out in holiday finery with glittering Christmas trees illuminated by thousands of lights. As they wander the stalls of Europe’s most traditional and enchanting Christmas Markets, including Regensburg and Salzburg, guests can shop for handcrafted toys and gifts, sip hot mulled wine and inhale the fragrance of gingerbread and roasted chestnuts. The cruise starts in Budapest and calls in Bratislava, Vienna, Krems, Linz and Passau before arriving in Vilshofen where guests will disembark and transfer back to Vienna for an overnight stay.
The following morning it’s time to board the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express for a glamorous journey from Vienna to Paris including a night of peerless luxury. The original 1920s Pullman carriages have been lovingly and painstakingly restored to their former glory, taking travellers back in time to the luxury and glamour of the Golden Age of rail travel. Travellers can relax in their private cabin where a personal steward will attend to their every need, enjoy a delicious three-course lunch and a sumptuous four-course dinner in the restaurant car and a continental breakfast served in the cabin.
Upon arrival in Paris it’s time to return home, either on Eurostar or by air.
The trip departs 8th December 2024 and is priced from £7,499 per person. Price includes flight from the UK to Budapest; overseas transfers; the seven-night full board cruise on AmaMagna including drinks with lunch and dinner and port charges; first class rail journey from Plattling to Vienna; overnight four-star accommodation in Vienna with breakfast; overnight full board journey on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express; and Standard Premier Class Eurostar from Paris to London.
