-140 agents hosted on the new Super Ship Emilie ahead of its inaugural sailing –
Last week, one hundred and forty travel agents from the UK and Ireland were given an exclusive pre-inaugural taster of Uniworld’s newest Super Ship, the SS Emilie, ahead of its first sailing from Amsterdam.
The trip was part of the fourth Ultra Luxury Cruise and Expedition Showcase organised by Uniworld, during which top agents are invited to meet with key players in the ultra-luxury cruise space – this time including Seabourn, Ponant, Explora Journeys, Hurtigruten, Aqua Expeditions and CLIA – to hear news, updates and industry trends.
A series of interactive panel sessions, presentations and Q&As took place against the luxurious backdrop of the Belvedere Lounge on the new ship, with the represented cruise lines speaking about how to get cut through in the ultra-luxury market, how to navigate the impact of the uncertainty in the Middle East, and offered top selling tips from each individual operator. The schedule also included opportunity to explore Amsterdam, and a gala dinner.
Danielle Muldoon from Six Star Cruises commented: “The Ultra Luxury Cruise and Expedition Showcase is such a great idea. Uniworld has brought together some truly like-minded ultra-luxury brands into a beautiful space on the new Super Ship Emilie, so not only are we getting a true taste of the Uniworld on-board experience, we’re also getting the latest insights and updates from some of the most luxurious cruise and expedition operators in the market.
“It’s a brilliant information-gathering exercise in the most glorious surroundings, and feels a real privilege to be here.”
Chris Townson, MD of Uniworld in the UK, Europe and South Africa, said: “The Ultra Luxury Cruise and Expedition Showcase goes from strength to strength. We’ve got the formula bang on because it delivers for everyone – for the invited travel agents and for the aligned cruise and expedition operators who have access to a targeted group of agents with high potential and propensity to sell their product. Everyone is learning about and making connections with contacts that will genuinely further their business.
“This year was extra special because we had it on board the new SS Emilie, which is the first in our new era of Super Ships, and the surroundings, service and elegance really blew everyone away.”
The Ultra Luxury Cruise and Expedition Showcase was the first part of Uniworld’s plans to host 500 UK travel agents throughout 2026 in celebration of its 50th year. Earlier this month, Chris Townson was on stage at the CLIA RiverView Conference in Amsterdam and announced 25 lucky agent delegates who won a place for themselves and a colleague to join a June fam trip on the Super Ship Victoria. This will be followed by more group and individual fams across the year.
