This five-night cruise onboard the 154-guest MS Michelangelo is round-trip from Venice with calls in Mazzorbo, Burano, Chioggia and Vicenza. A number of excursions are included within the cost of the cruise including:

 

  • La Scuola Grande di San Rocco, one of the most important museums in Venice for lovers of Venetian art. Discover paintings by some of the great Venetian masters such as Tintoretto, Titian and Palma il Giovane as well as captivating frescoes from the Venetian Renaissance.
  • The Basilica di Santa Maria , the second largest church in Venice with its stunning stained glass windows and numerous paintings including The Pesaro Madonna by Titian.
  • A classical music concert in the deconsecrated Chiesa di San Vidal which houses a collection of historical musical instruments and is renowned for its artworks by Sebastiano Ricci and Giovanni Battista Piazzetta.

  • Vicenza, which is renowned for its elegant buildings designed by the 16th century architect Andrea Palladio including the Palladian Basilica and the Palazzo Chiericati which is now home to an art gallery. Take in the beautiful façade of the Teatro Olimpico which opened in 1585 and contains the oldest existing stage set. The theatre was the final design by Andrea Palladio and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Teatro La Fenice, a legendary opera house in Venice which was restored to its former glory in 2003.This is a true feast for the eyes with opulent interiors featuring luxurious red and gold décor, ornate chandeliers and plush velvet seats and beautifully painted walls and ceilings.

 

With free time in Venice on day 5 of the cruise, guests can take advantage of an exclusive offer of free entry to the 60th Biennale Arte exhibition celebrating innovation and contemporary artistic expression. With the theme ‘Foreigners Everywhere’, the exhibition’s primary focus is artists who are themselves foreigners, immigrantsexpatriates, diasporic, immigrants, exiled or refugees with a focus on migration and decolonization.

 

There are four departures on 15th July and 4th, 19th and 29th August with prices from £1,034 per person which includes a £240 per person saving if booked by 30th April 2024. La Dolce Vita Through the Heart of the Serenissima

During free time in Venice on either day 2 or day 5 of the cruise guests can attend a unique evening of opera at the famous open air Verona Arena, a Roman amphitheatre that could once accommodate 30,000 spectators. Performances of The Barber of Seville and Aida are available depending on cruise departure date.
