UK government ‘certain’ AZ vaccinated travellers will be allowed into US
Although not officially certified by the US Food and Drug Administration, travellers who have received the AstraZeneca vaccine should be allowed entry into the US.
The UK Government says Britons who have received both AZ doses will be able to enter once restrictions are eased in November.
A Downing Street spokesperson said he was ‘certain’ that the AstraZeneca jab would be recognised by US border officials, although there has been no word on this yet from the US Administration.
"I have no indicators that it won’t be" the spokesperson added.
"I am convinced that any vaccine we have used, every vaccine acquired in the UK and licensed by the NHS and the WHO will be applicable."
Only.the Pfizer, Moderna and one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccines are FDA approved.
The Biden Administration announced that the US will finally lift its ban on vaccinated travellers from November.
