Flyr files for bankruptcy
Norwegian LCC Flyr has filed for airline bankruptcy.
The cash-strapped airline halted all flights and ticket sales
It said it failed to raise further cash to continue for its operations.
It is the second airline bankruptcy or failure in just a few days after the closure of Flybe.
“There is no longer a realistic opportunity to achieve a solution for the short-term liquidity situation,” Flyr said.
“All departures and ticket sales have been cancelled.”
More than 400 employees are expected to lose their jobs.
Flyr launched operations less than two years ago.
It operated 12 Boeing 737 aircraft.
It failed to secure $33 million in recent days leaving no other option but cease operations.
