Both BA pilots taken to hospital after toxic smell in cockpit
A British Airways flight was forced into an emergency landing after a near catastrophic cockpit incident.
Both pilots became ill due to a ‘foul odour.’
They donned oxygen masks and were able to land the plane at Heathrow Airport.
The captain and co-pilot were then taken to hospital.
The flight had taken off from Newcastle.
“The immediate concern is obviously for the two pilots,” a source told The Sun.
Investigations into the cause of the smell are underway.
The BA Shuttle service was carrying 180 passengers, who were unaffected.
“The flight landed safely, and customers disembarked normally following a minor technical issue,” British Airways said.
