10 ways to green tourism success
Simple tips to profit from sustainable tourism in 2018
Don’t miss out on this era’s biggest challenge- that could prove your path to sustainable profit.
Here are our top tips:
1. It’s all about money don’t miss out! Start learning. Find out and understand how sustainable tourism can not only fill your bank balance but help others too. Starting points:

2. Practice makes perfect – do something and learn on the job! Sustainability is never 100% the key is progress rather than perfection.
3. Join an organization and learn more with like-minded people on the same profitable trajectory.
4. Choose different places – a fact that 2017 highlighted was overcrowded destinations. Did you know that just 1% of destinations get 99% of all tourists? That is a major, major opportunity!
5. Make sure that the destination community gets something tangible (however small) NOW instead of a few good words and jam tomorrow
6. Train, NOT Boat or Plane! All the research suggests that 80% plus of tourism related emissions are caused by air travel. Believe it or not cruise liners are worse. Whatever you do in the industry you can use trains!
7. Do difficult stuff. Tourists, visitors, whatever you call them want things made easy – that, after all, is the ultimate reason that the tourism industry exists – us. Make sustainability easy and you are on to a winner.
8. Sell sustainable memories. The big time takeaway and the best souvenir is a sustainable memory, create sustainable events (meetings with locals, projects etc) that your tourists will remember and recount to their friends.
9. S=QVS. Never forget that sustainability should equal Quality, Value and Service.
10. Forget One Night Stands. You are after meaningful, fulfilling long-term relationships. You could be profitably, sustainably, engaging with your tourists before, during and after their experiences.
