2,000 agents back National Cruise Week
More than 2,000 travel agencies have signed up to support the UK’s first National Cruise Week.
The campaign, which runs from September 7, is designed to promote the diversity of cruise holidays.
Agents throughout the country will be holding events to promote cruising and highlighting the huge choice of destinations open to cruiser passengers.
Andy Harmer, business development director of organising body the Association of Cruise Experts, said: “Cruising is becoming ever more popular but there are still some misconceptions about the industry.
“National Cruise Week is a great way to show that there really is a cruise for everyone. The choice now offered by companies is immense – there is a cruise to suit all ages and all pockets, you can find intimacy or full-on fun, snow or sun, desert or jungle, relaxation or activity, the choice is truly endless.â€
National Cruise Week also supports the work of WWF in protecting marine species. Designated travel agents have committed to adopting a dolphin on behalf of customers buying a cruise holiday, helping WWF to safeguard the future of the species.
A record 1.5 million Britons are expected to take a cruise this year.
