The succulent gardens of Soekershof; Private Mazes and Botanical Gardens in South Africa, situated in Klaas Voogds West along Route62 (2 hrs from Cape Town) are the breeding place of the South African cactus trade. After 24 years of neglect the present owners have restored and extended the gardens which now houses by far the largest outdoors succulent plants collection in the world. Almost 2500 different registered species; cacti included and all cultivated organically. Soekershof is as the only botanical garden in South Africa certified by Fair Trade in Tourism in South Africa.
