Jamaica tourism celebrates expanded Virgin flight service
Jamaica has hailed Virgin Atlantic’s intent to increase flight frequency to the island.
From 31 March 2024, the airline will expand Jamaica flights from London Heathrow to Montego Bay, Jamaica, from five to seven times per week, year-round.
It comes with the low season addition of a Saturday and Sunday service.
Hon. Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, said, “This expansion aligns with the growing demand for travel to Jamaica and underscores the confidence in our destination”.
The added frequency will be operated on Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
With the increased frequency, Virgin Atlantic will now offer daily service between London and Montego Bay, adding an extra 258 seats twice a week.
“The additional nonstop Jamaica flights are a testament to the enduring appeal of Jamaica as a premier holiday destination,” Donovan White, Jamaica’s Director of Tourism added.
