56 killed in Turkey plane crash
A domestic flight from Istanbul has crashed in south-western Turkey killing all 56 people on board.
The Atlasjet, carrying 49 passengers and seven crew, was on its way to the town of Isparta when it disappeared from radar screens.
The airline’s chief executive said initial reports from rescue helicopter teams found no survivors.
He said it was not yet known what caused the crash and the pilot was in communication with air traffic controllers until the aircraft disappeared from screens.
Low-fare Atlasjet is run by two Turkish tour operators, Etstur and Oger Tours.
