A380 pilots could demand higher pay
Pilots flying the new Airbus A380 could see their pay increased following a court ruling in Singapore.
The country’s Industrial Arbitration Court agreed with a Singapore Airlines pilots’ claim for extra pay for flying the superjumbo.
Pilots argued that flying the new aircraft was more complex and required additional responsibilities.
Singapore Airlines will be the first airline to fly the A380 and is due to take delivery of the first of 19 ordered jets in October 2007.
The pay ruling could extend to pilots working for the other carriers due to use the aircraft, which include Virgin Atlantic.
